Our Xtreme Story
After being forced into early retirement as a professional footballer, Daniel Chillingworth started Xtreme Soccer in 2012, which began with one set of inflatable bubbles, a van and a short-term contract with a stag-party agency.
Dan’s passion to make the business work, love of football, zest for life and infectious personality ensured that the business succeeded in its first year. However, at the end of 2012 his then business partner dropped an unexpected bombshell that he was emigrating to Canada. Not quite knowing what to do with the business, Dan continued for a few months contemplating the future.
In 2013, Dan was joined by lifelong friend and businessman Warren Whitfield, who became a co-owner. Together, they quickly regrouped and recognised a gap in the market for a multi-faceted events company which serviced the stag and hen sector with provisioned events on a nationwide scale – a one stop shop. Xtreme Events was then founded; a company offering a variety of quirky, innovative games, based on traditional sports to the hen and stag market. In 2014, Goggle Football was soon joined by Old School Sports Day and Xtreme Dodgeball as popular games in the portfolio. In this period, the company was growing at an unprecedented rate and had to quickly assemble a team of support staff that could help with the demand for our activities. Dan and Warren turned to some trusted old school friends and together put an efficient support back office in place so they could hit the road and build the business. In 2015, Xtreme Events expanded its portfolio to include Footgolf, Battlezone Archery and Turbo 10 Cricket, amongst others. Having created partnerships with the leading stag, hen and special event agencies across the UK, we were proud to have cemented our position as the UK’s number 1 event provision company for the stag and hen market. Within this year, Xtreme Events also signed a very important contract with Powerleague – the UK’s premier pitch provider. This meant that we could further our reach and offer unquestionable pitch availability to our clients on an exclusive agreement. This was a massive coup for Xtreme Events and one that enabled us to continue our growth pattern. We topped off what we saw as a fantastic year by winning “New Business of the Year” award for Cambridgeshire. 2016 saw us reach more new milestones; the business taking a record number of bookings, turnover doubling for the 4th consecutive year, the introductions of some fantastic new activities including Xtreme Ballseye and Xtreme Games, the employment of some high-quality office staff to take us forward again and the introduction of Xtreme Active – a sister company for the leisure sector. Our values are simple – we offer quality service from booking to delivery, combined with continued innovation to bring new, fresh ideas for the event industry to enjoy on a nationwide scale. Thanks for being on this ride with us.
