Local Sights and Attractions

The medieval streets of York are home to some of the oldest shopping streets in Europe, with a maze of hidden ginnels looking like something straight out of the pages of Harry Potter. York is a treasure trove of independent shops and boutiques. Yorkshire is best known for its tea and where better to taste in than at the famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms, a perfect setting for Afternoon Tea. Taking centre stage in York is the impressive York Minister, the largest the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe. If you fancy something a bit more active, we recommend a game of School Sports Day as one of the best things to try in a big group.
